A Quick Turn Around

The fishing season ended mid October. I spent the following month nesting with friends and family in Prince Rupert and Vancouver. I'm sitting in the Terrace airport currently. I'm about to catch a flight to Vancouver, where I'll meet up with the Lady Valerie, a 78 foot troller headed for Tahiti! I'm so, so tired as the planning and packing for this has been fairly last minute. I won't be working but am hitching a ride and hope to learn lots on the way south. I'll spend a few weeks around Tahiti before flying to Canada to begin 4 months of courses at the Western Maritime Institute in Ladysmith. I'm not sure what is to come after that but shall try to keep following my intuition. This is such a random and different experience and maybe it will feel real once I'm on the boat.

I'm so sad to leave Rupert and Canada- friends, family and poor Jasper. I take that to mean I come from a good place. My belongings are in a minor disarray and yet I felt compelled to jump onboard so strongly.

With love, thanks and awe,
Ocean
