Fall in Oona River- "Wind and rain and empty roads- this is where a lifetime goes”

A friend of mine wrote a song once with the chorus “wind and rain and empty roads- this is where a lifetime goes”. I always picture Oona River when I hear that song. It’s called One Day

I made it out to there with my dad the other day- for what was supposed to be a quick trip. It accidentally turned into almost a 5 day trip as we were stormed in- the plane refused to pick us up. Woops. Northern weather.

I'm back home now. I was super introspective most of the trip- as well as congested from the first cold of the season. Working on getting better still.

We had amazing hot water and I had long baths each night. We ate well and drank lots of creamy coffee- the last halibut dinner was incredible.

This place can be bitter sweet and heartbreaking and freeing and connected and confusing and rich and everything that makes a place a home.
